Audio capture in Firefox doesn't work

Doesn't work on 0.1.13 for me in firefox-82.0. https://test.webrtc.org/ tells me that

Audio capture [ OK ] Audio track created using device=default [ FAILED ] No active input channels detected. Microphone is most likely muted or broken, please check if muted in the sound settings or physically on the device. Then rerun the test.

It works fine in ALSA with software like Mumble tho.

no cli playback status/control and assertion failures on certain mp3 tracks

Important Information

Provide following Information:

  • mpv version 0.32.0-783-g49d6a1e77d-dirty
  • Linux Distribution and Version Gentoo
  • Source of the mpv binary compiled by Gentoo
  • Window Manager and version xmonad 0.15
  • GPU driver and version mesa 20.2.1

Reproduction steps

Happens irregularly when i try to play certain mp3 tracks. Somehow there's no playback progress reported to CLI and no way to control it from the keyboard, but the X window works fine including the controls.

Expected behavior

Actual behavior

mpv: ../audio/out/buffer.c:585: ao_play_data: Assertion `space >= 0' failed.

gdb is surprisingly unhelpful:

Parallel AI process limit?

Feature request

Idea

<!-- Write down a short explanation of what the new feature consists of. What should be added or changed to the project? --> As AI consume a considerable amount of RAM, making them troublesome for VPS installations, it would be useful to limit the amount of AIs that can be run in parallel. Say, you have 8 AIs in game, and now they want to run all at the same time, strictly requiring 8x more RAM from the server than they would if they were run consecutively.

Gain

<!-- Explain why the introduction of this feature would improve the project. --> Ability to run multiple AIs on small servers.

Discussion

<!-- Please create a new forum thread for discussions and link it here; to directly open the the "New Topic" form you can use the link below: https://www.freeorion.org/forum/posting.php?mode=post&f=6 --> It was brought up multiple times in the multiplayer game discussions on the forum.

use inotify (or equivalent) for file modification notification

It only asks the kernel for the file change events (and polls when the kernel lacks such an interface, but it is present on Linux and Windows), and it's up to the networked file systems' implementors to communicate the updates to the OS kernel. I don't know whether yours do that. Linux NFS doesn't, for example. So we should preserve the polling logic for the use cases like yours, but i think it should be opt-in.

The code works on linux and doesn't break anything. If it's bugged on some other platform, it could be addressed separately as a bugfix. Meanwhile, MacOS doesn't even strive to be POSIX these days it seems: https://www.quora.com/Is-Mac-OS-X-more-POSIX-compliant-than-Linux/answer/Madars-Oz

pull request commentl29ah/x210-ec

Add vladisslav2011's EC hotpatch and battery fix deltas.

Are those changes just parts of his patchset or they are substantially different to accommodate for the X2100? If it's the latter, having a distinct option for X2100 mode or forking the project altogether may make more sense to avoid confused users bricking their laptops.

Anyway, i don't have a setup to unbrick my X210 in case of problems these days, so i'll wait until someone chimes in and tests it before merging.

issue openedndmitchell/record-dot-preprocessor

doesn't work in ghci

I've tried ghci with RecordDotPreprocessor (0.2.6) on GNU/Linux, but it doesn't seem to work at all (doesn't fail to load though):

‰ ghci -ignore-dot-ghci -fplugin=RecordDotPreprocessor -XOverloadedStrings -XFlexibleInstances -XIncoherentInstances -XMagicHash -XBangPatterns -XFlexibleContexts -XTypeApplications -XDeriveGeneric -XScopedTypeVariables -XDuplicateRecordFields -XDataKinds -XMultiParamTypeClasses -XTypeSynonymInstances
