issue commentosa1/tiny

Publish a new version on crates.io pointing people to the git repo

Personally, its purely a familiarity thing - I install bat, fd, exa, rg, all through cargo install bat/exa/fd-find/ripgrep.

For initial installs, I actually like the explicitness and flexibility of cargo install --git https://github.com/osa1/tiny.git, though would prefer it to use #sometag as recommended for stable. It would be really nice if the ecosystem started using full URLs for "end-user programs" and crates just for crates.

That said, for updating, its much nicer having crates published on crates.io, since a user can know they are getting the 'latest stable release'. It also works well with tools like cargo-update.

If you are cool with force-updating a particular tag on master when making releases, such that a user could cargo install --git https://github.com/osa1/tiny.git#stable then that would pretty much erase the only meaningful difference I could come up with.

Now that tiny builds on stable, would you be open to start re-publishing on crates.io? Or are there other reasons you prefer not to publish the crate?

firefox 81 build issue

python 3.9 llvm 10 rust 1.47

The build fails with a trace in python/mozbuild/mozbuild/configure/__init__.py

I tried commenting out the loop since it looked like arg was nil, but then ran into a "missing libpulse" error

I don't think libpulse is in core/extra/community so basically wanna check in, is firefox 81 supposed to be buildable?

I am upgrading to llvm 11 and rust 1.47-2 and will re-try.

I will then test with --enable-default-toolkit=cairo-gtk3-wayland

Add: typscriptreact syntax highlighting support

Note that this changes the ft from "typescriptreact" to "typscript.tsx"

PR Prelude

Thank you for working on SpaceVim! :)

Please complete these steps and check these boxes before filing your PR:

  • [x] I have read and understood SpaceVim's CONTRIBUTING document.
  • [x] I have read and understood SpaceVim's CODE_OF_CONDUCT document.
  • [x] I understand my PR may be closed if it becomes obvious I didn't actually perform all of these steps.

Why this change is necessary and useful?

I was confused why .tsx files were not highlighting. I saw a number of issues related to this that were closed with little or no resolution (#3210 #3221 #3261). This was the simplest working PR I could come up with, though I am not sure what side effects it might contain.

PR merged nycmeshnet/nycmesh.net

Update the Slack redirect in the footer for non-members

Fixes: #102

Problem: If you are not an existing member of the NYC Mesh Slack group, navigating to https://www.nycmesh.net/slack results in an expired Slack invite link page. Best reproduced in an incognito tab.

Solution: Use the URL found in the footer as the redirect URL.

Context: Unsure whether it should point to https://slack.nycmesh.net/ (which ultimately resolves to https://join.slack.com/t/nycmesh/shared_invite/zt-a60pusap-syb6K0iFD7MQZBflLKNuJA) or point directly to the redirected join.slack.com URL. I'm guessing that the join.slack.com URL is subject to change, so pointing to slack.nycmesh.net seems like the correct solution here. Additionally, the footer partials also uses https://slack.nycmesh.net/.

commit sha 16a565d30c3af81e65e2a5da0bc593bda88f0464

Allow customization of terminal title Add GEOMETRY_TITLE and GEOMETRY_CMDTITLE display locations. Geometry was already controlling the terminal title. This change uses the geometry function plumbing to display information there. The original explicit title-controlling code displayed the name and arguments of the currently-executing command. This change introduces a new geometry_cmd function to display this information from within the GEOMETRY_CMDTITLE configuration. The riskiest change in this code is the hand-rolled deansi function. The colored output of geometry functions displays poorly in the terminal title, so non-text information needed to be removed.

PR merged geometry-zsh/geometry

Allow customization of terminal title

Summary

Previously, geometry showed output in three locations:

  • GEOMETRY_PROMPT
  • GEOMETRY_RPROMPT
  • GEOMETRY_INFO

This PR adds two new display locations:

  • GEOMETRY_TITLE
  • GEOMETRY_RUNTITLE

Details

Geometry was already implicitly updating the terminal title. This PR allows configuration of these locations through the same paradigm as drives the rest of geometry.

The original title-controlling functions; geometry::clear_title, and geometry::set_title ran with an implicit lifecycle.

Challenges

De-coloring

The biggest challenge with this PR was de-coloring the output of geometry plugins. The deansi function included here is hand-rolled and worked with the handful of functions I tried out; includinggeometry_path,geometry_node, and geometry_hostname.

Limited testing

I've primarily developed/tested this in iTerm. It looks a little funny in Terminal.app

iTerm Terminal.app
2020-09-20 at 12 47 PM 2020-09-20 at 12 43 PM

No current command

This PR is a regression, since the currently-executing command is no longer exposed in the terminal title. It seems simplest to expose it as a generic geometry function, like geometry_cmd or something, but it may only be useful when used in GEOMETRY_RUNTITLE.

I am happy keeping it as is (no " @ ") - geometry::wrap uses GEOMETRY_SEPARATOR, which is more consistent with the other output

Great idea! I'd be happy to merge with a few minor changes:

  • Add this feature to the changelog

  • Set the default runtitle to show the currently running command (with or without geometry_cmd as an external function, I am not sure it makes sense externally)

  • (optional) Think if there could be a better name for RUNTITLE, where better could mean more consistent with zsh naming of things. For example, CMDTITLE since it is precmd. I am happy to merge as RUNTITLE though.

Projects depending on updated expo-linear-gradient conflict with package lock

Describe the bug

Our project depends on expo-linear-gradient@8.3.1, but this package-lock and published version of the package depends on ~8.3.0, causing a crash when both are loaded in react native.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Make a new expo typescript project
  2. Add expo-linear-gradient as a dependency
  3. Add react-native-skeleton-content as a dependency
  4. Make a View with react-native-skeleton-content and a gradient
  5. expo start and see a crash

Expected behavior No crash

Install libelf.pc?

It would be nice to install libelf.pc so software the uses pkg-config to find libraries can find libelf. This is how fwupd finds libelf.

I was able to add the following to my fork of libelf, though it seems not the cleanest:

install -D -t "$1/usr/lib/pkgconfig" config/libelf.pc

kiss: Add handling of /etc/ files to removal action.

pkg_remove_files() { # installation and package removal. Combining the removals in these two # functions allows us to stop duplicating code. while read -r file; do- case $file in /etc/*)- printf 'Skipping removal of %s\n' "$file"- continue;- esac+ case $file in /etc/?*[!/])

ahh so this is kinda equivalent to echo "/etc/file/does_not_exist" | grep -q '^/etc/.*' - it is not checking that the file exists, just that the string starts with /etc/ and does not end with /.
