This last commit (amended) will fetch the jul21b version of the Gildas sources, which include the fix for use of clang++ instead of g++, fixing this ticket.

Ok, here is an amended commit which provides:

  • fix of the executables installed under ARM (the "my_machine" patch),
  • declare the supported architectures (supported_archs keyword)
  • go to Python 3.9
  • discard useless reinplacements which were raising a warning

You might want to edit the commit message to stick to the MacPorts policy.

On a separate note, thanks @bardeau for maintaining the gildas port over the last few years. Your updates and bugfixes are greatly appreciated. +1

Thanks!

Could we also take this opportunity to upgrade the port from python38 to python39?

Yes, no problem. It would be even more interesting to have an alias like "latest stable" Python version. Does this exist?

Gildas for arm

Description

This second commit in dev branch fixes installation under ARM. I am still fighting against this bug when building from sources under a local machine (while there is no error when retrieving pre-compiled binaries, but the current patch is needed for those).

Do I need to create the pull request from another branch?

  • [x] bugfix
  • [ ] enhancement

Tested on

macOS 11.4 20F71 x86_64 Xcode 12.5.1 12E507

This patch is intended to deal properly with both x86_64 and ARM.

Gildas: fixed destroot for ARM.

Ok, added a revision number.

Under macOS 11.4 20F71 arm64; Xcode 12.5.1 12E507, the build fails with following messages: [...] ---> Found 3 broken files, matching files to ports gildas is using libstdc++ (this installation is configured to use libc++) ---> Found 1 broken port, determining rebuild order DEBUG: Broken: gildas DEBUG: Processing port gildas @0:202107a_0+gcc11 You can always run 'port rev-upgrade' again to fix errors. The following ports will be rebuilt: gildas @202107a+gcc11 Continue? [Y/n]:

The current pull request is intended to catch the error for the 3 broken files, as it will ensure the last instruction in the destroot target is honoured: delete ${destroot}${prefix}/lib/gildas/${my_machine}-darwin-gfortran/python/pyclassfiller

The other error will be treated separately.
