@Kein DMCA is applicable only in the USA. As long as you host in another country, or rent the VPS from the hoster registered not in the USA, you're fine. OVH with the server in France, for example, does not react to DMCA emails and does not require for you to answer them.

This is offtopic though. Let's restrain from offtopic discussions.

NewPipe should immediately remove the screenshot of downloading Adele's Skyfall. And screenshots that include the "Download" button.

No, please don't do that. By removing the information which RIAA (or any other DMCA copyright claimer) doesn't like now, you're openly telling you will obey their blatant demands in the future.

This crap should be handled with technologies, and not by putting our heads to the sand hoping they won't spot the project.

There's also distributed p2p github alternative: Git Center on ZeroNet network. It's very cool, but not very good UI-wise and not bug-free. But it's totally censorship-free.

Seems too easy to inbox spoofed domains

As far as I know, many (most?) major email services drop emails with p=reject, so it's safe to assume that email delivery with DMARC problems is a big problem and the sender should not expect the message to be received into inbox, if at all, worldwide.

To make things clear: I'm by no means an expert in email, and you probably know the situation better than me, but I got confused that MiaB, despite having all common (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and new technologies (TLSA, SSHFP, MTA-STS) does not validate SPF or DKIM and receives even very naively spoofed email into inbox.

@jvolkenant, RejectFailures true will reject only mails with DMARC p=reject record and won't reject mails from domains with missing or p=none or p=quarantine record. Only if you explicitly configured to reject emails from your domain, it will reject it. I consider this quite conservative.

@JoshData, is there any reason you prefer to use SpamAssassin Authentication-Results filtering instead of just enabling OpenDMARC failures with RejectFailures true? This will reject messages only on hard failure (when there's DMARC record on the domain with p=reject). With this option enabled, I have only a single email from http://emailspooftest.com/ in inbox (number 3, SPF test) compared to all 5 without the option.

Please also test the case where (unauthorized) external mail server relays DKIM signed email, as in mail list. These letters should not fail even if SPF will fail. I'm not sure whether SPFIgnoreResults true and SPFSelfValidate true work properly in this case.

@myfirstnameispaul should it be better to use a module like https://github.com/bigio/spamassassin-dmarc ? For full DMARC compliance you should also generate and send DMARC reports.

Donations via Bitcoin

Not sure to understand the pros and cons of having different types of cryptocurrencies?

There are several very major ones: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, hence the most popular one. Ethereum provides a lot of functions on blockchain which Bitcoin doesn't. Tether is a stable coin, the authors make everything for it to cost exactly 1 USD. All these have public blockchain, meaning that everyone can see all transactions and balances on all wallets.

There are private blockchain projects, "anonymous cryptocurrency", which hide transactions and/or wallet balances: Monero, Zcash, Dash. Some people prefer these coins because they don't want to make their actives and activities publicly visible.

Ouch, does not look to be supported by Jaxx ; should I use Exodus instead ?

I personally use software for the exact coin where possible, because usually this software has the most functions the coin has. Legacy address is not something bad you should drop right away, but as I observe, many slowly switch to SegWit.

Change the "Not for resale, Faggot" boot screen

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to change the boot screen image. I personnaly think that is a bit rude to the user. I think there is other way to show that the device should not be sold to non tech people user after this upgrade.

Showing a version number, with a little text live "Mod Version x.x.x - Not to sale" at the bottom, with a customized logo could make the experience a bit better. After all this is the first thing you see when you turn on the device.

Take care, Thanks.

Change the "Not for resale, Faggot" boot screen

I was thinking on the phrasing for at least 3 months, and haven't thought of something more polite but as straight as current phrase.

See, in Russia accusing for being a faggot is a pretty strong affront. Consider the following: somebody trying to sell the router with this firmware installed. "Not for resale" text on boot screen tells absolutely nothing, at least its Russian version. — "Why is it not for resale", the buyer would think, — "I'm buying it right now, how could it be not for resale? What does that mean?". Not for resale phrase is so weak it won't even lead you to think about it. However, if the router calls you a faggot, that's, at least, will tell your brain "WHOA, stop, why the router calls me a faggot? Seems very fishy." Russian sellers won't sell anything which call you a faggot, because it greatly increases risk of being punched in the face.

I gave routers to my parents and they are OK with that. I call the router "a faggot", and the firmware "a faggot firmware". My friends giggle every time. For me, it turned out better and funnier than expected.

I'm totally against people who use the firmware only to bypass internet sharing restrictions (to change IMEI/TTL) to save 300-400 rubles per month (≈$4-5). These are complete faggots to me. And the sellers of 'configured sets' are faggots².

@gfrenoy I'm sure you can, but that what should be negotiated with the people, it doesn't have anything with the technology per se. You can buy goods and services with cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin payments are pretty common among internet service companies; not very common among retailers, but you can find some. Either way, you can always exchange cryptocurrencies to usual currencies (fiat).

@BohdanHamulets Ukrainian, as per @zhovner, does not have strong wording preference in many cases. I've asked @zhovner to translate these missing strings, and he did the translation with other native tech-savvy Ukrainian speakers. He rage quitted this PR because your message opened a discussion for another 3 years, as it was in the previous PR.

He runs anti-censorship service for specially for Ukrainian people only and says that of thousands of users only "maybe two" use Ukrainian translation in OpenVPN. And indeed, almost everyone speak Russian in his service' chat group, with very rare Ukrainian messages.

He, unfortunately, doesn't want to continue this discussion and reopen this PR. I'd say: @selvanair, merge this @zhovner's PR, it at least has additional strings, and then you can discuss whether one word is better than other with other contributors.

Donations via Bitcoin

@gfrenoy, take a look at how I made cryptocurrency donations page at my website: https://antizapret.prostovpn.org/donate.html

Ideally, you need to accept several major cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin and Ethereum at least (you can check which are major on https://coinmarketcap.com/). For each cryptocurrency you need at least a wallet address, preferably with QR code and payment button where possible (if the cryptocurrency has its own URI scheme).

If you're not savvy in cryptocurrencies and want to make that as easy as possible, use unified wallets like Jaxx or Exodus. This is a server-backed software, but all your money is in your control, they don't provide a consolidated account unlike some web services. Just download the software and copy Bitcoin/Ethereum/etc addresses. Make sure to backup wallet's seed phrase and/or private keys of each cryptocurrency!

You don't need sudo. Run it like this: /path/to/where/you/have/the/file/windows2usb-0.1.6-x86_64.AppImage

Falsely claims that drive is busy.

USB drive has no partitions on it, only gpt table. It can not be busy. Manjaro Linux.

This disk is currently in use - repartitioning is probably a bad idea.

Target NTFS file system mounts in read only mode

When the target NTFS file system is being mounted at https://github.com/ValdikSS/windows2usb/blob/master/windows2usb#L199, mount (as well as mount -t ntfs -o rw) would mount file system in read only mode. Yet if i do it via ntfs-3g helper directly (mount.ntfs or mount.ntfs-3g) everything works as expected.

I don't have a good fix for it, but would be willing to dig this deeper should somebody has any ideas on how to fix it.

Compatiblity with python 2.7

Hello,

I've split seeking the input file and the assertion in two which results in your script being fully compatible with python 2.7. Not crucial, but convenient ;)

Greetings Ralf
