sequence_weirdness returns -1 with U+2019 ’ [Pf] RIGHT SINGLE QUOTATION MARK

Hello.

First of all - thanks for a great tool!

Commenting on negative result of sequence_weirdness - this is assumed to be a way of checking the text before taking a decision on whether to investigate deeper/fix. And this is how it is explained in the docs: Heuristics to determine whether re-encoding text is actually making it more reasonable.

So - I assume that the logic 'look just at text with weirdness > 0' is normal one. And from my limited experience it looks like a good method.

Returning -1 for means that if some mojibake is in the text together with some of this characters that give -1 - the overall value is zero again:

import ftfy
ftfy.badness.sequence_weirdness("п®")
0
ftfy.badness.sequence_weirdness("п")
1
ftfy.badness.sequence_weirdness("®")
-1

and it makes heuristic for > 0 less accurate

Allow users to search the referrals and paths

Let users search the referrals and paths.

It's already possible in our API:

URL: http://localhost:5602/api/top?query=referrer.hostname.text:(app)&hostname=simpleanalytics.com&terms=referrer.hostname.normalized&page=1&limit=10

Add "Go back" button on hide traffic page

Would be useful to have one like we have on the website settings page.

Show top pages per referral

Basically, it'd be helpful to see which referrals lead to which pages. That way I can see if searches are more likely to land on the home page or the pricing page, etc.

Thanks to @dinkydani21 and @lseelenbinder:

Can't delete referral traffic with plusses

I think this is fixed now for all future data. I also added a feature where you can search on all UTM codes as well:

I updated this logic to decode any encode characters. Did the same for incoming data, so every utm code will be saved decoded. It might be that this would not work for "old" data (that is, before now). We should add a way to delete utm_source data as well, I think. Let me see if that's easy to do now.

Just a UI issue I think because the response from elastic looks fine.

Document manual page view collect feature

<script async defer data-auto-collect="false" src="https://scripts.simpleanalyticscdn.com/latest.js"></script>

If will expose a function called sa_pageview.

Which you should fire when the script has loaded:

window.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', function() {
  if (typeof sa_pageview === 'function) sa_pageview('/path');
});

Browser navigation buttons don't work when drilling down into the chart

Can confirm this, it seems like this is specific to when you're trying to go back to the initial state where no start/end dates are present in the URL. Thank you for letting us know!

Browser navigation buttons don't work when drilling down into the chart

Steps to reproduce;

  1. Load page https://simpleanalytics.com/simpleanalytics.com
  2. Click day on chart, chart updates to show that days data 👍
  3. Click browser back button
  4. URL changes but chart doesn't update

Expected;

  • Chart should update to show original unfiltered data

Show Referrals, Screen Widths, Browsers & countries stats for Individual pages

When I viewing a page views for a single page (https://simpleanalytics.com/website.com/page-name), I would like for the stats below the graph to change to show the statistics for that only.

So for the page I am viewing, I would like to see:

  • Referrals
  • Screen Widths
  • Browsers
  • Countries

Keywords page, paths, per, path

Inform when done

  • See source
