Add DNS Please

Hi, nice work. I have been using my esp8266 as a repeater for a while now and it works quite well, but now I am connecting my Esp to a wifi with proxy and that resolves the connections through 2 DNS, but the fact is that I can only configure one and I think that that's what gives me connection instability. How can i fix this?

Boot loop since WPA2 credentials entered

I have the exact same issue. I've used a range of ESP-01s and have gone from a simplistic to overkill circuit to make sure power fluctuations weren't causing the problem.

As above, when building from source:

Fatal exception 28(LoadProhibitedCause): epc1=0x40216923, epc2=0x00000000, epc3=0x00000000, excvaddr=0x00000004, depc=0x00000000

And when flashing the precompiled binaries:

ets Jan 8 2013,rst cause:4, boot mode:(3,6)

@gaijinsr Did you have any luck?

no restart after firmware download

Me I have the esp-01s. I managed to flash the firmware successful but when I restart it in non-programming mode, nothing seems to be happening, I can't see the default AP and when I send commands I don't receive any response. Thanks in advance.

Errors during compiling (iram1_0_seg)

Hi, I downloaded the code, but during the compiling I get this error:

It seems not enough ram/space: how can I solve this issue ? or may be better: which version of sdk should I use ? I'm using the 2.1.0-18 and I installed the esp-open-lwip-nat too.

I'm trying to recompile the fw in order to hide the passwords from the web page :)

My fault !! I'm using Sming to develop my projects and the removing from env (unset) SDK_BASE fixed the issue. It was really strange effectively: a full reinstall of software always with the same error. Thanks for your support and patience !

This error happens, when there is not enough instruction RAM (think 48 KB or so) available to hold all the required code. It is not directly related to the flash size but to those functions in the code that are not marked as "ICACHE_FLASH_ATTR". Functions that are marked this way are only cached in iRAM and be be reloaded from flash as required. Typically IRQs are not ICACHE_FLASH_ATTR. Sometimes, when I added new functions and forgot the ICACHE_FLASH_ATTR keyword, I got this error.

But now I double checked my build environment and it seems to be fine for me - no such error with the current repo.

as reported in the build instruction, I tested the "blink" example.. obviously ! I removed the mqtt, web config and WPA2_PEAP. The file in the build is about 699K, but always the error ! #define WEB_CONFIG 0 #define MQTT_CLIENT 0 #define WPA2_PEAP 0 the esp is a 4Mb, do I have to inform/force the linker or not ?

Just to clarify, I'm using /opt/esp-open-sdk as directory for the esp-sdk and I'm using ~/Software/esp8266/project/esp_wifi_repeater as source dir.

Hmm,...

Try, just for testing, to disable some mem conuming feature, e,g,:

#define MQTT_CLIENT 0

in user_config.h

no luck. Did you use the recommended version of the open_sdk? Different versions have different amount of mem left.

Thanks for the fastest answer, but I did nothing. just git clone and make (after changing the BUILD_AREA inside the Makefile in order to point my environment): nothing more !

Did you enable more compile options? Try to disable those you probably don't need. Did you enlarge the the webpage? Try to reduce that.

Allow internet acces nor local IPs

Hi Martin,

You have done such a great job, congratulation and thank you. When you see the average price for such a device, you are making us saving money! (and have fun doing it)

I'd like to set up a repeater for my friends to allow them access internet in my place without allowing them access devices on the local network (IOT stuff).

I have tried several acl configurations including those in your well written documentation without any good result. It seems I don't know how a simple internet access works ^^

I feel like many of us would love this feature and you probably can add it directly to the documentation.

Many thanks for your help !!!

Try, where xx.xx.xx.xx is the address range of your home network:

    acl from_sta clear
acl from_sta IP any 255.255.255.255 allow
acl from_sta UDP any any any 53 allow
