Desktop client 2.5.0 won't sync files correctly

@er-vin @ivaradi thanks. I dont know how many people are facing this problem but then updating debian from 10 buster (with nextcloud 2.5) to 11 bullseye (with nextcloud 3) just beause of the nextcluod client is a lot of work.

you may want to look for flatpak then: https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.nextcloud.desktopclient.nextcloud

Usually a case for backports then. But backporting Qt sounds like a huge load of work.

oof, as someone who also uses a non-C locale this unfortunately doesn't make exa a suitable ls replacement yet

add support for pigz as compression type

Adding support for pigz as compression type would immensely speed up the compression on systems with multiple cores.

Conflicts with Text app and doesn't work on Nextcloud 19.0

In Nextcloud 18 you can have all 3 apps activated, Text, Plain text editor and Markdown Editor. In order to use Markdown Editor instead of Text you then have to open the ... context menu and click "Edit in plain text editor".

Options to weather edit md text (source) or edit as a preview md file

Yes, I see the point there. This is also why we released https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/files_texteditor to the app store for Nextcloud 18+ and it should stil work fine with files_markdown even if text is enabled.

wow, great! I can confirm that this works and doesn't conflict with textanymore!

Options to weather edit md text (source) or edit as a preview md file

@juliushaertl I understand the primary focus of the text app. But most of us are looking for a way to offer both methods to our users, richt text editing and the markdown editor app. In an ideal scenario I would have the text app as the default and install files_markdown app in addition to that, which could then be started optionally via the context menu ("Edit with Markdown editor"). But files_markdown depends on the old files_texteditor which in turn conflicts with text. And so the cat bites its own tail :-\

Rework of collaborative tags

Not much to report from my point of view. Tags are public, because they're collaborative and you can reuse other people categorization ideas, and share things aligned together. So the solution for your case is to highlight for users that tags are public.

"collaborative" in its meaning doesn't necessarily expand the scope to all users of an instance. It does make a difference to share tags, say, within a team of 20, or with all 10,000 users of your instance. You see my point?

yes, this would help our users tremendously who miss the old markdown editor app. CodiMD shows how this can be done.
